Terms of service

Agreeing to these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Minted Auto for the use of this site and the cards we make. By creating an account or a card, you accept them. If you do not, do not use the service. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data and is part of this agreement.
Who can use it
You must be at least 13 to hold an account, and at least 18 — or have a parent or guardian do it — to order physical cards. We offer the service in the United States. You are responsible for anything done through your account, so keep your email secure: anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
Your photos stay yours
You keep ownership of every photo and description you upload. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, resize, crop, adapt and display that material, to generate card artwork from it, and to reproduce it on physical cards — all for the purpose of running the service and fulfilling what you asked for.
Two details worth reading twice. First, this licence covers printing: making your card is manufacturing a physical object from your photo, and we cannot do that without it. Second, where a card is already in circulation — other people hold it, or copies have been printed — the licence continues for those copies after you delete your account, because we cannot recall a card someone else owns. Everything else goes when you go.
We will ask you first before using your card or photo in our own marketing. Tell us at support@mintedauto.com if you would rather we never did.
What you promise about what you upload
- The photo is yours to share — you took it, or you have permission from whoever did.
- The car is yours, or you have the owner's permission to make a card of it.
- Nothing you upload infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights.
- The specs you enter are accurate to the best of your knowledge, and any proof you attach is genuine.
Cards, specs and ratings
Ratings are calculated by us from the specs, and the rarity figure comes from our own research. Specs lock when a card is minted so that a collected card does not change under its collectors; if something is wrong or your car is modified, file a change request and we will review it. We review and may decline, edit or unpublish any card.
Verification means a member of our team looked at a document you sent and found it consistent with your claim. It is not a title search, a lien check, an inspection, or any guarantee of ownership or condition. Do not treat a verified badge as proof of title in a sale.
Collecting and serial numbers
Serial numbers are assigned in the order cards are claimed and are a record of that, nothing more. Cards are collectibles for fun. They are not investments, securities, or a promise of future value, and we do not guarantee that any card will be worth anything or that a print run will stay a particular size.
Orders for physical cards
Requesting prints is a request, not a purchase. We will send you the cost for your approval before anything is printed or charged, and you can cancel any time before you approve it. Once printing has started an order cannot be cancelled, because the cards are made for you alone. Each physical card carries a one-time code; once someone redeems it, it is spent, so treat an unclaimed card like cash.
Things you may not do
- Upload someone else's car or photos as your own, or impersonate anyone.
- Upload anything unlawful, hateful, or that puts a private person's details on a public page.
- Falsify ownership documents or dyno sheets.
- Scrape, overload, probe or work around the security of the service.
- Resell claim codes in bulk or use the service to launder stolen vehicle identities.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something here infringes your copyright, email dmca@mintedauto.com with the work concerned, where it appears, your contact details, and a statement that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them. We remove infringing material and terminate repeat infringers.
Trademarks and the cars themselves
Vehicle makes, models, badges and logos belong to their manufacturers. Minted Auto is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any vehicle manufacturer, and nothing on a card should be read as suggesting otherwise. We name cars to describe them, which is all we claim to be doing.
Ending it
You can delete your account whenever you like from your profile. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law stops us. Cards already held by other collectors stay with them.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that a card will last forever.
To the extent the law allows, Minted Auto is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose, or one hundred dollars if you paid us nothing. Some states do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of TODO — state, without regard to conflict of law rules, and disputes belong to the courts there. Nothing here takes away a right you have under the consumer law of the state you live in.
Changes and contact
We will update the date at the top when these terms change and tell you if the change is material. Reach us at support@mintedauto.com.
